Let’s just say that, up until now, we’ve stoically endured the cold: radiators being turned back on (much to the dismay of environmentalists), coats and scarves for going out, and heavy snowfall in the mountains (where, incidentally, the resorts have been closed for a while). But enough is enough. To say it hasn’t been a warm spring is an understatement, but from May onwards, we must be optimistic because the season of ceremonies begins: from Mother’s Day to confirmations, communions, graduations, and the first weddings. This is a season that requires slightly more pleasant weather to finally show off our favorite pieces: silk dresses!

Many of you are asking for advice on the perfect outfit for various occasions, and we are ready to provide all the answers and suggestions to ensure you never miss a beat with your look.

For Mother’s Day, I can tell you right now that there will be a dedicated drop. We should never forget to give a gift to the most important person in our lives (which is usually her!), so follow us on social media because a surprise is coming.

For confirmations and baptisms (and let’s hope a few more babies are born in our increasingly aging Italy), the advice is always the same: don’t overdo it. Soft, pastel, or dusty colors like light blue, rose, or tobacco will be perfect. The Trani model in light blue midi with petal sleeves, or a perfect shirt-dress like the Taranto—in polka-dot silk or solid cotton—are particularly suitable.

For weddings, we have an infinite choice of long dresses, ranging from formal to romantic depending on whether the ceremony is in the morning or afternoon. The Como shirt-dress in shiny satin truly suits everyone; you can find it in marron glacé or cream, depending on whether you prefer dark or brighter tones. The green Castel del Monte in silver fil coupé chiffon is fit for a more bucolic and less formal setting, while the Santarcangelo in Habotai—with its two pattern variants in green and caramel and long but open sleeves—is especially recommended for church ceremonies, as is the Ivrea model, with its slimmer silhouette and side slits. To ensure you don’t go unnoticed, especially if you have a more prominent role in the wedding, I suggest the Vieste in shaded chiffon or the Beatrice D’Este, both featuring veils that cover the shoulders. If you love bright tones, the orchid-colored Sant’Agata with its halter neck and soft ruffles around the neck and skirt is the right dress, adding a touch of sensuality to an outfit that commands attention. Finally, the San Severo in bright blue silk sablé, with a neckline enriched by jewel buttons, is perfect for the mother of the bride or groom: exceedingly elegant and extremely chic.

Lastly, many young women are asking what they should wear for their graduation. A silk shirt, whether white or colored, is always an elegant and winning choice. Perhaps paired with an easy skirt like the Locorotondo, in printed silk with a slight flare and a drawstring waist. But if you feel more comfortable in trousers, that’s perfectly fine too.
